Dynamic Aerial Hoop

Dynamic Hoop Teacher Training Level 1
4-12
4 days, 5 hrs per day
For advanced bar coaches who have taken bar apparatus teacher trainings.

There is so much that goes into making dynamic work safe and effective beyond simply teaching the dynamic skills themselves. The aim of this workshop is to create a solid foundation of body mechanical technique and understanding of how essential introductory dynamic pathways on the hoop are taught and learned. In addition to going in-depth with a curriculum of introductory dynamic skills, this training will cover functional anatomy, injury prevention, instructor sub-skills, and progression-building techniques. Skills in curriculum:
-Foundational beats
-Foundational rotationals
-Introduction to spinning flares
-Preparations for release
-Preparations for dynamic c-shaping

Included in the training:
-Functional anatomy
-Conditioning for muscles, connective tissue, and nervous system
-Principles of building dynamic progressions
-Dynamic sequencing
-Seeing the dynamic skeleton: techniques for improving your awareness of body mechanics and alignment in your students
-Spotting, cuing, strategies for common mistakes, and drills for each skill in the curriculum
-Feldenkrais lessons designed to illustrate principles of movement

Dynamic Hoop Teacher Training Level 2
4-12
4 days, 5 hours per day
For advanced bar coaches who have taken bar apparatus teacher trainings who have completed Level 1 OR have prior approval.

This course will carry the principles and skills built in Level 1 on to more complex and challenging skills including full release movements. As dynamic work becomes more demanding, the conditioning, cuing, and coach’s ability to really SEE the student’s body mechanics must progress to match.This workshop will continue with in-depth exploration of each skill in the curriculum and the advanced pedagogical tools needed to guide students through them safely. Tippy Lyra

Tippy Lyra Teacher Training Level 1
4-12
3 days, 4 hrs per day
For aerial hoop coaches with prior teacher training and at least 2 years of teaching experience unless cleared by instructor

Tippy lyra is beginning to take off, but teaching it presents a few… unique challenges relative to regular aerial hoop. This introductory workshop will cover foundational principles of getting students started on this apparatus with a vocabulary of introductory skills, including spotting, cuing, drills, and progressions for each. Enrollment comes with a printable digital manual.

Tippy Lyra Teacher Training Level 2
4-12
2 days, 4 hrs per day
For intermediate-advanced aerial hoop coaches who have taken Level 1 OR been cleared by an instructor

This teacher training will go into some of the more challenging and complex dynamic skills available on this apparatus, as well as strategies for safely guiding advanced students in their own exploration and research. This is a relatively new apparatus, after all, and new vocabulary and movements are just waiting to be found!
